Industrial Development Authority
The Frederick County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia that was created on October 24, 2967 pursuant to the provisions of the Code of Virginia, 1950, As Amended, Title 15.1, Chapter 33, including sections 15.1-1375 through 15.1-1390. The IDA is compromised of a seven (7) member Board of Directors appointed by the Frederick County Board of Supervisors.
The IDA recommends to the Board of Supervisors and, upon approval, issues tax exempt revenue bonds in accordance with the Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act, Chapter 49, Title 15.2, of the Code of Virginia, 1950, As Amended. The IDA considers applications for financing certain types of facilities for non-profit organizations and for companies which manufacture or assemble products. The mission of the IDA is to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental, nonprofit and commercial enterprises and institutions of higher education to locate in or remain in Frederick County.
